Britney Spears Super Bowl 2018 Halftime Performance Rumor Officially Debunked

Britney Spears played with our hearts, but she won’t be getting lost in the game — or in this case, performing at the big game: the Super Bowl.

After rumors began to surface online that Spears would be heading back to the Super Bowl as its headliner in 2018, fans couldn’t help but get excited. Now, we finally have confirmation about whether or not there’s any truth to the speculation. During a panel at Venues Now Conference in Beverly Hills on Wednesday (July 12), Pepsi’s head of sports marketing, Justin Toman, shut down any possibility of Spears being in the 2018 show, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

According to EWwhile Toman didn’t say who would be performing at the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show (last year it was Lady Gaga), he did say, “I can tell you it’s not Britney.”

It’s a sad day for Spears fans, who not-so-secretly wanted a repeat of her 2001 Super Bowl XXXV performance. You all know which one we’re talking about! Spears took the stage with Aerosmith and *NSYNC for the epic performance. It was SO ‘90s!

Hopefully we’ll know who will be headlining the big show soon seeing as Toman said an announcement will be made “in due time.” Even though Spears isn’t in the running as of now, we’re not opposed to an *NSYNC reunion at the Super Bowl. What do you think?

Britney Spears Raises $1 Million For Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation’s New Facility

Britney Spears is putting her star power to good use — and for a cause very close to her heart.

Later this month, the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation will open its brand-new Britney Spears Campus, a 16,000 square-foot facility combining more than 45 pediatric and adult services.

According to a press release, the building was made possible after Spears raised $1 million with donations from her “Piece of Me” show ticket sales. Other major donors included Zappos, Live Nation, Caesars Entertainment and more.

“There are many things I’ve done in my career that I am proud of, but none more than this,” says Spears, 35, in a statement. “The fact that I was able to use my celebrity status to raise the money to build this incredible facility to help sick children and their families when they need it the most not only brings many tears to my eyes, but really brings tremendous meaning to this amazing journey that I have been on.”

“My aunt Sandra died of cancer and I know the devastating effects that this terrible disease brings upon its victims and their loved ones, but when it happens to innocent young children, there’s literally nothing I can think of worse than that. I’m just glad that I can help in some small way. I want to thank the NCCF for the amazing work they do on a daily basis and I look forward to being there to officially open the Britney Spears Campus of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation in the fall,” continues the mom of two.

NCCF currently serves more than 400 pediatric patients, survivors and their families in southern Nevada. After it moves into the new building, its healing arts services program — The Caring Place — will double in size and extend service hours.

“We are so thrilled and genuinely excited about moving into our new beautiful location. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Britney Spears for her compassion and dedication to our cause, giving us the means to do this through a recent capital campaign,” says Jeff Gordon, NCCF president and CEO, in a statement. “The impact this will have on all the families we serve will be immeasurable as it will allow us to take care of even more community members in need of our many services.”

Britney Spears Wants You To Know She’s Definitely Not Lip-Syncing In Singapore

You show ’em, BritBrit!

Days after Britney Spears shut down rumors that she lip-syncs in concerts, the pop star showed off her vocal chops in the middle of her concert in Singapore when she wished her longtime bodyguard Jacob a very happy birthday on stage on Friday night. Take that, world!

A fan recorded the video of the popstar singing “Happy Birthday” to her loyal employee in front of the huge crowd.

“I have a really special friend tonight. He’s been with me—I’m gonna cry—for like five years. He’s one of my favorite people, his name is Jacob,” she said. “Everyone, let’s sing ‘Happy Birthday!'”

The 35-year-old singer then busted out an absolutely fabulous rendition of the festive tune.

The decision to be loud and proud with her vocals comes on the heels of her decision to speak out about incessant rumors that she lip-syncs during her live concerts.

Earlier in the week, the pop superstar appeared on an Israeli TV show where she was asked about singing live at her shows. She said, “I’m glad you’re addressing this question, because it’s really funny. A lot of people think that I don’t do live.” Britney continued, “I usually—because I’m dancing so much–I do have a little bit of playback but there’s a mixture of my voice and the playback.”She added, “It really pisses me off because I am busting my ass out there and singing at the same time and nobody ever really gives me credit for it.”

This certainly isn’t the first time the rumors about her not singing live have plagued her. Her tour manager addressed the lip-syncing accusations during a 2014 interview.”To put on the show that she puts on, it’s virtually impossible to sing the entire time and do what she does,” Adam Leber told Medium when Britney’s residency in Las Vegas was just getting started. “She’s singing on every song, basically, when she has the ability to sing. There’s no way you can dance for 90 minutes straight and sing the entire time.”

Whatever she’s doing certainly keeps fans coming back. Crowds of people have flock to see her residence at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, which ends soon.

Tickets are going fast for her final performances that begin September 3 and conclude on New Year’s Eve.
